Maybe's Excerpt

This is a small excerpt from the book I'm currently working on. It may be hard to understand exactly what is going on because this hasn't been presented in context with the whole book but this is my baby. I'm not ready to push it out of the nest yet because it's not ready to fly.

A little bit of scene back story though: This takes place quite a ways into the future and forty years after accidental chaos has sent man nearly into extinction, grasping for straws. Water is death. People are death. Friends are the worst death of them all.

The Summer is upon them and it's a miracle anything survives.
